—Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Mobile: Russell Buckley (pictured) is leaving Google’s mobile advertising unit AdMob, about a year after the company was bought by Google for $750 million, four months after CEO Omar Hamoui resigned, and two weeks after head of engineering Kevin Scott left to join LinkedIn as VP of engineering. Buckley was AdMob’s first employee and eventually became the company’s MD for Europe and head of global alliances. He will concentrate on angel investing for the moment. (via GoMo News)
—Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson: James V. Mahon, the handset maker’s former deputy general counsel, has now joined Andrews Kurth as Partner in the intellectual property group. Among Mahon’s responsibilities at Sony Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC) was head of global litigation, overseeing areas such as patents and trademarks. Sony Ericsson is currently suing Clearwire (NSDQ: CLWR) for having a too-similar green logo, although the other week a judge denied Sony Ericsson’s request for an injunction. (via email, PhoneNews)
—Mobile Entertainment Forum: The MEF has announced new board members for the EMEA region. Lee Epting, Vodafone Group (NYSE: VOD) content services director, is now the MEF EMEA chair and MEF global board director; Jonathan Jowitt, Dolby’s Head of Mobile Content Solutions, and Colin Yeh, Qtel’s Director Group Innovations, have been elected as MEF EMEA Co-Vice Chairs. Other new board members include executives from MTN, Buongiorno (BIT: BNG) and InMobi.
