I often buy flowers, so I can also share some experiences of flower peddlers.
One peddler has told me, “Almost all white flowers smell very sweet; the more colorful, the less fragrant.” His conclusion is that, like flowers, the simpler and purer a man is, the more inner fragrance he has.
Another peddler has told me, “When buying lotus in the early morning , you are sure to choose those flowering ones.” His conclusion is that, since early morning is the best time for a lotus to blossom, a lotus which does not flower at that time possibly will not flower in the noon or evening. I exmine man in the same way, it’s more difficult for an unambitious young man to be ambitious in his middle age or old age.
Another peddler has told me, “The more expensive the flowers are, the sooner they will wither away.” He hopes the buyers to cherish their youth, because youth is the rarest flower which will wither away quickly.
Another peddler has told me, “Every rose has thorns.” His conclusion is that there must be some unbearable parts in one’s character. To love a rose, we need not rid its thorns but learn how to avoid being hurt by its thorns.
