Nokia E7 now up for pre-order in the states with presumed April delivery

Dedicated stateside Nokia watchers, we have good news: the E7 is up for pre-order on the company's American storefront for a hearty $679. Set to ship in the beginning of April, this bad boy has been kicking around Amazon since late last year, and much to our surprise the price hasn't changed one penny since then. Of course, if you'd gone through Amazon Prime you'd have saved $4 on shipping (which you probably need after spending the better half of a grand on a handset). Get out your credit card and hit the source link!

Amazon Appstore for Android will launch this month?

We've already had some indication that Amazon's own app store for Android devices would be launching fairly shortly, and it now looks like it could be coming as soon as this month. That word comes from the seemingly in-the-know ad network Millennial Media, which tweeted earlier today that the Amazon Appstore for Android is "launching this month," and linked to a blog post that details what's in store for developers. Unfortunately, that post doesn't actually contain a ton of specific details, but the ad network apparently sees the store as a "great opportunity," particularly when it comes to the additional exposure apps would get through Amazon.com. In case you weren't aware, Amazon's also been maintaining an official developer blog for the Appstore (yeah, it's all one word), which does provide quite a few technical details for those interested.

AT&T Motorola Atrix 4G now going on sale, $149.99 at Amazon or RadioShack (update: $129.99 at Walmart)

The hotly reviewed and already rooted Atrix 4G is now on sale at AT&T. As expected, the privilege of buying direct from the carrier will set you back $199.99 with a two-year contract in the range of $39.99 per month for the Nation 450 on up to $69.99 for the Nation Unlimited with another $15 per month for a 200MB DataPlus plan or $45 per month for a Data Pro 4GB + tethering plan. Or shop on over to Amazon (or RadioShack) who lists the same HSPA+ device for $50 less with a 24-hour ship time. Remember, if you just have to have the laptop dock then you'd best do it now while it's offered with the handset in a $499 bundle (after $100 mail-in rebate and purchase of the Data Pro plan with tethering add-on) -- the same laptop dock purchased separately will cost you $499.99. No, really.

Update: Walmart is offering the Atrix 4G handset for a measly $129.99 for those of you activating a new account before Thursday.

Amazon Appstore for Android will let you available buy apps without a device

No Android device? No problem! Turns out Amazon's upcoming Appstore for Android -- which has been in the works for some time -- will allow you to purchase apps even before you receive the device you intend to install them on, presumably so that you're stocked up and ready to go by the time the phone (or tablet, or whatever miscellaneous gizmo) arrives on your doorstep. As AllThingsDpoints out, the concept appears to go partway toward mimicking Amazon's Kindle business model, which does a decent job of decoupling content (which is associated with your Amazon account) from the actual hardware you've got it installed on. We still don't know exactly when the Appstore is launching, but considering Amazon's retail chops, these guys might actually stand a chance at cutting into the Android Market's revenue by some noticeable margin.

Kindle Software Update Delivers Public Notes and Page Numbers

Kindle DXThe newest Kindle software update has finally put the eReader on pace with books, adding sorely missed page numbers to the device. If an eBook contains page number information, it can now be accessed by pressing the Kindle’s menu button.
The page numbers will match up with those in print books, which will significantly facilitate cross referencing and conversation between people using Kindle and people using print.
If an eBook includes page numbers, it will have a "Page Numbers Source ISBN" under product details on its sales page. Users must have a latest-generation Kindle running software version 3.1 for access to page numbers.
The other software highlight is the introduction of public notes, which lets Kindle owners share their annotations with others. Users just need to follow the person whose notes they'd like to see online through Amazon, and their books will automatically be updated with that person's annotations (if they also have public notes turned on).
Public notes can also be turned off, so that users can follow people without necessarily receiving their public notes.
